Attorney MARIA DEL CARMEN AGURCIA joins the fight for hemophilia patients and their families in the midst of struggles within her family to care for her son HUMBERTO MEJIA who since birth has fought to survive his severe hemophilia and caring with her attention and advice to her daughter RINA MARIA, who is a carrier.

The beginnings of the Honduran Hemophilia Society in 2000 were not easy, there was no organization in Honduras to address requests to the authorities of the Honduran state for the acquisition of special medications in quantity and quality, to raise awareness in sectors of the population. especially hospital doctors that the care of patients with hemophilia is not a matter that should be taken lightly. And it achieved it, there are at least five sections empowered to ensure the rights of patients in the center and northern coast of Honduras, which concentrate the largest Honduran population.

Among his most notable achievements is the creation of the special HIV AIDS law that incorporates regulations to protect the rights of hemophiliac patients.
