The World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) appointed Argentine Carlos Safadi Márquez as vice president of the National Member Organizations (NMO) of said entity. Among his responsibilities will be to support the participation of the ONM and contribute to the development of the Federation’s strategic goals.

Carlos Safadi Márquez is a lawyer and has been a member of the Hemophilia Foundation of Argentina as a volunteer for more than 25 years, when he came as a patient and joined the work teams. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation and has worked as a volunteer for the World Federation of Hemophilia since 1996, where he chairs the ‘Ethics’ and ‘Rules and Constitution’ committees.

“ I hope to be able to contribute from my place to the objective that we have set for ourselves, which is that all people in the world who have hemophilia can access the best treatments available ,” said Dr. Carlos Safadi Márquez.

The World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) is dedicated to bringing together the bleeding disorders community in the name of ‘Treatment for All’, a commitment that has become even more relevant since the COVID-19 crisis. The WFH strongly believes that where a person lives should not determine their access to care and treatment for an inherited bleeding disorder.

For its part, present since 1944, the Argentine Hemophilia Foundation was the first organization in the world established to comprehensively assist patients with hemophilia, research on this disease and provide social help. It has registered around 2,500 people with hemophilia throughout the country, whom it assists whether or not they have health coverage, offering them care from different specialists, and hospitalization and active guard 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
